In the zone

They weren’t that crazy in the old days. For years and years grannies all over the world have been doing it. I decided to give it a try and not to wait till I’m seventy. Knitting. It’s such a simple thing. Two needles and a ball of wool. Who knew that this activity would be the ultimate thing to get lost in. Knitting, especially in the beginning, requires some form of concentration and thereby lets you forget about all your worries.

The ticking of needles and the repetition work almost hypnotizing and make the activity very relaxing. The best thing of all is that you can do it anywhere and it is a great way to pass the time. Long train journeys instantly become shorter and semi-interesting TV-shows become truly interesting background noise. And at the end of it, you’ve got yourself a homemade present. Maybe we should all listen to our grandmothers a bit more often.
